Marian Rivera for Lovi or Manny?

Marian Rivera, Manny Pacquiao and Lovi Poe are ready to bring back sitcoms on GMA 7 with “Show Me The Manny”.

After the successful pilot episode of “Darna”, the young actress will showcase her talent in comedy with the Philippines’ National Fist as well as FPJ’s only begotten daughter.

The 25-year-old phenomenal star believes everything is falling into place despite of the catastrophe that “Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang” has done to her career.

In my opinion, we will never know if this show will work but I’m sure that Manny Pacquiao is very happy since he gets to be with his mother, running lines and acting onscreen.

On the other hand, several endorsements are being offered to Mrs. Dionisia Pacquiao while Manny serves as her manager.

Aside from that, Manny’s wife, Jinky Pacquiao, is the new face of Belo beauty products.

This is what most people want. Lots of money, travel and a peaceful life.

The Pacquiao family is truly blessed.

Meanwhile, Lovi Poe has just recently come back to the Kapuso network after she left the hit TV series Lipgloss on TV5.

Before she started to be in that teeny bopper show, the fans had been informed that she was only going to sign a one season contract. The role she played was very significant and it added some spice to all the episodes of “Lipgloss”.

The 20-year-old actress/singer also had her movie “Walang Hanggang Paalam” shown in Cinemalaya and Netpac international films in competition.

Her busy schedule is not only occupied by her out of town shows, concerts and TV acting jobs. The next film she will star is directed by Joel Lamangan.

As the info got published on cyberspace, it says that this movie is a dark one and will parade the serious actress in her.

Also, GMA 7 is planning to give Lovi Poe her own soap opera on primetime television.

All the best to the cast of “Show Me The Manny”.

Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera as Darna of the 21st century

by Julius Roden

August 17, 2009

The rebooted fantasy TV series Darna on GMA 7—now stars Marian Rivera as the Filipino superheroine in red bikini-like costume—is definitely the upgrade of the same TV series in 2005 starring Angel Locsin.

Not only because of its 24P TV mode format, which is so pleasant to the eyes so to speak, but rather the production and the kick major ass choreography of the fight sequences shown in its teasers.

In the scene wherein the young Eduardo and Narda come out the door and run to hug the policeman (Ian de Leon), the execution was like one of those classic Columbia Pictures movies.

Their cameraman surely rocks. Very nice.

As we all know, Angel Locsin remains in our memory cards as the Darna of this generation, and please allow me to further add “the sexiest Darna”, that no matter how childish GMA network try to put their year 2005 release to oblivion, people know the truth.

Funny that up to this point, the Angel Locsin as Darna on DVD hasn’t come out for distribution. In spite of the insistent request from the fans, the green light signal has stayed ambiguous.

In my opinion, somehow, it’s better that way. After all, that series was a load of shit. The only good thing about it was Angel Locsin and her hot body while the rest sucks.

Talk about its cheap drama in 30P format, lousy fight sequences, too much posing of Valentina (Alessandra de Rossi) and Darna (Angel Locsin) that if you watch it again, it’ll make you think if the scene is really going to be action-packed or if it’s about those two wonderful mammary glands ready to make your day.

As for Marian Rivera, I strongly believe the happiness she felt when she got the part. It wouldn’t hurt, I suppose, if her haters would just let it go and give her a break because she’s only doing her job.

Reminds me of Rogue in X-Men cartoon series saying:

‘A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.’

Angel and Marian both look beautiful and sexy as Darna. It’s just like having a different artist if it was in a comic book or even in an American cartoon series.

Imagine the X-Men character “Storm” in “The Uncanny X-Men” during the 90’s and the one in “X-Men Evolution”. Same thing goes for these two lovely actresses.

Honestly, I found myself smiling while watching Marian’s interview on “24 ORAS” (a Filipino TV news program on GMA channel 7).  That was the time Ms. Wilma Galvante surprisingly announced who the new Darna is.

You see, after Marian’s statement, she was asked to give a sample on how she would shout “Darna”. After doing so, I thought she was a tough female vendor in Divisoria or Balintawak.

Her fierce voice showed everyone how it’s done. Impressive.

I think Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera are both at the top of their game. The girls are cool so let’s leave them alone.

Angelica Panganiban on being a shameless bitch

by Julius Roden

Posted INQUIRER.net Cybervision

August 11, 2009

In the upcoming mini series on ABS-CBN, 23-year-old Angelica Panganiban will sizzle in our local boobtube as she portrays the role of a shameless bitch named “Rubi”—originally a Mexican telenovela starring the sultry and sexy half Uruguayan and half Japanese actress Barbara Mori.

If some people still wonder why Marian Rivera got the most online votes to become the sexiest woman in FHM 2008, it’s because most of the male readers don’t’ mind who gets to be in the cover page. What mattered to them was they get to see Angelica Panganiban showing her heavenly curves to stimulate their arousal point.

Actually, I don’t read FHM but I knew that many male fans got excited when Derek Ramsey’s girl finally gave in to this popular sex magazine. I never thought she would look so hot since I got stuck on her childstar status several years ago. Imagining her posing for a men’s mag was  like seeing a face of a pretty little girl Photoshopped just to have a curvaceous body of a young woman.

As for me, Camille Pratts comes to mind since they grew up together in ABS-CBN channel 2. They both looked so cute way back then. “Ang Pulubi At Ang Prinsesa” (The Beggar And The Princess) was a film produced under Star Cinema made them child superstars.

But time never stops and people grow up.

Honestly, I got thrilled when I heard the news that Angelica Panganiban was announced to play the part of Rubi. I find this character very sexy. A kind of bad girl most men want to bed with even if she drives us insane. So I immediately searched for some videos of Angelica on the internet and there was this dance number she had on ASAP, her white t-shirt was tight, hips grinding slowly, getting down lower and lower, lips so kissable, skin so  touchable, a body to die for. She was smoking!

Indeed, Claudine Barretto’s antagonist in “Iisa Pa Lamang” deserves this project.

This will be her very first soap opera wherein she plays the title role. However, the character is not the Cinderella type in your usual telenovela. Rubi is capricious, ambitious, evil and deceptive. Major bitch in every way, every inch.

In the Latin American version, Barbara Mori owned it. Her two leading men Eduardo Santamarina and Sebastian Rulli were extremely provocative in their respective roles as Alejandro and Hector.

Not to forget the bitchy catfights of Rubi and “Sonia” —played by the very bootylicious Marlene Favela, the star of “Gata Salvaje” and “Zorro”.

Diether Ocampo will play the part of Alejandro. While the part of Hector remains to be seen.

Let’s all hope Angelica Panganiban pulls this off.

Now, to the executive producers, headwriters and everyone behind this upcoming remake, here’s my one million dollar word of advice:

Never ever take the lead actress away from her high-heeled shoes, glamorous outfit, well-contoured make-up, big hair and big jewelries unless she has to do love scenes or a catfight sequence with Sonia in their bikinis.

May we all learn from the tragedy Rosalinda remake on GMA 7 has done to the magic of Latin Telenovelas as well as the crappy extended episodes of Marian Rivera’s Marimar.

Somebody must have forgotten to flush the toilet.

Come forth Senorita Barbara Mori and bless Angelica Panganiban.

‘Connect-Ed to Ron Sapinoso

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 28, 2009

After having the short animated film “Connect-Ed” included in the CG Overdrive 2009 Singapore Expo, comic book writer and film director Ronnie Sapinoso has proven readiness in his new career.

“Awake I Am”, a short film by Mr. Sapinoso, caught my law of attraction as it redirected me to his website.

The story is about a man longing for his wife. Nostalgic musical score, artistic shots, impressive adlib are guaranteed.

Having it uploaded on YouTube enables every vibrational human being to view it at any time convenient.

Obviously, this flash movie site is a very powerful tool on the internet. The rise to worldwide fame of Charice Pempengco, Arnel Pineda, Marie Digby, Moymoy Palaboy and Brookers had it validated.

Somehow, Carlo J. Caparas must be very proud of him. Need I say that they used to work together?

Director Ronnie Sapinoso has cerebral palsy. That’s it! I don’t want to talk about it in a journalistic way with classy choice of words because it’s full of bullshit that will have me vibrating negative energy all over the place. All those people that put him down causing this pathetic human drama in his life experience can KISS MY ASS.

It ends here.

Let’s talk about positive things that will vibrate positivity all over this place and generate goodness, inspiration, hope and prosperity.

Aside from being a comic book writer and a film director, this amazing artist from Imus, Cavite is also a CG animator. He can play around with “Maya” and “Blender”.

Before I met him in 2007, I never knew how to edit videos. Well, I could work with “Windows Movie Maker” but it’s not good enough to come up with a decent digital film.

So to fastforward everything, we’ve become friends and he taught me how to learn “Sony Vegas Pro Movie Studio” — an editing software used in Hollywood. YES, that’s right!

Makes me wonder why some local movie studios and local fantasy TV series keep treating the audience with crappy special effects, stupid story lines, insulting the intelligence of the viewers, knowing the fact that their producers often spend millions of cash to pay a group of people to work on it, when one person can do much better than that.

Well, I guess this remains a mystery I, myself, won’t waste time finding a solution.

But the good news is … Ronnie Sapinoso is available to all young independent producers out there.

Grab a bite now.

Indeed, the annihilation of the current mainstream cinema is near at hand. Moment after moment, more and more young filmmakers come together, to take over, embrace change.

It begins.

Hot mommas in liquid dreams

by Julius Roden

Irma Adlawan, Gina Pareno and Jacklyn Jose — Queens of Filipino independent movie industry.

These three beautiful actresses have been making waves in numerous award-giving bodies in the United States, India, South Korea, Japan and in some European countries.

Let’s get to know them more.

In the romantic-comedy flick “A Very Special Love”, Irma Adlawan played the very loving mother of Adelaida Magtalas.

The 45-year-old hot momma sure did a great job in that film although her screen time wasn’t enough to showcase more of the acting prowess she could have vibrated.

However, in “Tukso” — a Dennis Marasigan suspense film — we get to see more of her impressive acting skills.

Though Sid Lucero and Ping Medina did their parts well, Irma totally owned the plot.

The story is very simple. It revolved in one place all at once. It’s like “Leon and Claire on Scenario A/Scenario B” in the Resident Evil 2 playstation game.

If you are familiar with CAPCOM RPGs, you’ll figure it out. But if you don’t know what I’m talking about, move your ass and watch this Cinemalaya movie.

On the other hand, hot momma Gina Pareno can offer more than you could ever imagine.

This Filipino-German-American mestiza, at 59, is not just having an amazing career with her top-rated TV series “Tayong Dalawa” on ABS-CBN channel 2. She is likewise fully into indie films.

The critically acclaimed “Kubrador” — directed by Jeffrey Jeturian — will always have her undying gratitude for it has brought out the best actress in her.

Still remember her classic line?

Ano faflu… ano fafla…’

From Ishmael Bernal’s “Working Girls”.

Meanwhile, Jacklyn Jose was an awesome softcore pornstar during her younger days.

Indeed, the internet has been so generous since I was able to find some nude photos of hers. It brings back fantastic memories.

Talk about watching those bold movies on BetaMax.

As time went on, she managed to transform her image from a sex symbol to a serious actress. She earned people’s respect due to being professional. Love your work and it will love you back.

Today, Jacklyn Jose is one of the greatest actresses in the Philippines.

Let Brilliante Mendoza’s film “Serbis” prove it.

The Antonov Vodka Stars 2009 Fashion Show

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 23, 2009

Alyne Torres has provoked some TV celebrities to participate in the Antonov Vodka Stars 2009 due to her undeniably amazing TVC.

The 25-year-old actress of the horror flick “Kasambahay” is fearless in showing her real self.

Alyne is set to star in two movies this year— to be directed by “Pinoy Komiks” animator/film director Ronnie ‘Ron’ Sapinoso.

And she’s very happy to have made friends with Victor Aliwalas, Reena Rae, Vanessa Lim and Mico Marasigan.

As seen in the picture, four hotties showcase their different sides to the whole world.

Be who you want to be is the tag line.

The actor/model Victor Aliwalas is busy with television projects on GMA 7. He got the press favorite award thingy during the Red Carpet Press Launch of Antonov Vodka.

At the same time, international beauty queen Reena Rae bagged the same award. FHM would be so proud to have this sultry Filipino-Arabian pose in their magazine once more.

Meanwhile, sexy Vanessa Lim kicks major ass.

This Filipino-Chinese actress is very excited about her upcoming movie projects this year. She was recently featured in Cosmopolitan, Jack TV and CS 9.

A party animal with a lot of academic awards from the University of the Philippines will soon make waves in the movie industry.

Likewise, indie film actor/model Mico Marasigan will co-star the Aikido black belter in an action flick.

The finals night of the Antonov Vodka Stars 2009 promo will be on July 31 at the Heirarchy Bar in Taguig. Alyne Torres and the rest of the models will storm the fashion show and party all the way.

Before it all started, hundreds of videos were submitted to the official website. Fifteen men and fifteen women were supposed to be chosen. But the number of finalists was later trimmed down to seventeen.

Many entries didn’t make it to the finals with intriguing questions left unanswered.

Let’s put it this way, selecting the most appealing model for the endorsement depends on online and offline voters.

But then again, Ginebra San Miguel wants to make sure that Antonov Vodka will sell like hotcakes to big drinkers and occasional drinkers.

Business is business.

Jake Roxas and Lovi Poe hot sex in an X-rated film

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 18, 2009

The sensual friction of two undressed bodies breathing faster and faster as it reaches the climax of wet and wild sex equals the beauty of Mona Lisa.

For it is but a lovely work of art.

The fired up love scenes, artistically shot by award winning directors Paulo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos, in the film “Walang Hanggang Paalam” freed the 20-year-old actress Lovi Poe from the suffocating dungeon of loveteam in local showbiz.

However, when her debut film got rated X courtesy of MTRCB, several hypocrites on the worldwide web flooded local movie forums and entertainment news websites with nasty comments.

The agendum was to ruin the reputation of FPJ’s only begotten daughter.

In fact, a photo sent to a very popular entertainment news site exposed Lovi Poe - covered with blanket in bed, eyes wide shut, sleeping soundly next to the main actor of the movie.

This provocative image had gathered hundreds of netizens posting their point of view regarding the sudden transformation of Lovi Poe from a bubblegum girly pop artist to a serious actress. Some were constructive while others seemed to have found pleasure in promoting crab mentality at its best.

Many thought she was a softcore pornstar in the making.

Without having the movie seen yet, a bunch of wackos concluded that Lovi did rough sex scenes with badboy actor Jake Roxas whose nude photos, taken from the film, scattered on the internet.

In spite of everything, the star of the hit TV series “Lipgloss” remains magnanimous. In her interviews, she explained that an actress had to do what the script demands in order to come up with a very good film.

So in this film, playing the character of a bold 16-year-old girl who eloped with her boyfriend will underestimate the viewers’ intelligence if sexual intercourse never occured in their relationship.

It’s like saying “Hey! I’m still a virgin!”

Many of us must come to understand the reason why local mainstream cinema delays itself to leaping forward internationally is because most moviegoers and TV goers are brainwashed by loveteam - a system in Philippine showbiz interpreted by some actors as “a pain in the ass”.

As for Lovi, caging herself forever in stereotype roles is the last thing she wants to happen in her slowly but surely thriving showbiz career.

“Walang Hanggang Paalam” got R-18 as reconsidered by the censorship board just a few weeks after it became controversial due to its X-rated brouhaha.

The Paulo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos masterpiece is, by the way, part of the Cinemalaya-Netpac 2009 Films in competition.

Cloning Jericho Rosales

 by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 16, 2009

A newly released album and a top-rated international TV series only prove that Jericho Rosales is still one of the most bankable actors in local showbiz.

As a matter of fact, his film “Baler” won the MMFF Awards for Best Picture in 2008.

The smash hit soap opera “Pangako Sa’yo” (The Promise) delivered his career to superstardom.

Way back then, schedules of acting jobs became extremely punishing that fans couldn’t just get enough of him. Then, product endorsements on television and billboards increased the pages in his portfolio.

Not to mention the best actor awards bestowed upon him.

TV reruns of “Pangako Sa’yo” and “Sana’y Wala Ng Wakas” in southeast Asian countries; particularly Malaysia, is not just an honor to him but as well as to Filipinos.

Aside from that, some African countries also bought the rights to broadcast his two mini series and still having reruns.

Jericho is a very passionate actor if I must say so.

The way he portrays the character on the big and small screen is amazing. Many local TV goers will always remember him as Claudia Buenavista’s romantic son - Angelo. His leading lady in the show, Kristine Hermosa, stirred a chemistry onscreen that until now, fans keep begging for more.

If we are going to talk about “looks and sex appeal”, the Eat Bulaga’s Mr. Pogi alumnus needs no validation for this subject matter. It’s the good working relationship he has with his colleagues that keeps him in the business.

It would be so nice to see other neophytes follow his footsteps and bring out the same passion he burns and energy he exudes for his manly acting style.

In fact, opening a school, owned by him, for aspiring actors would be a great idea. He could be the best coach in acting class. It will definitely help many film and television producers cast well-trained actors in the future.

The 30-year-old star of “Kahit Isang Saglit” has a lot to offer in this deteriorated Philippine entertainment industry.

Jericho Rosales, indeed, is back in the game.

Rosalinda Philippine TV Series

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 11, 2009

The Philippine remake of Rosalinda falls short of expectations, gathering only 26.3 percent audience share for the pilot episode courtesy of AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings.

Several months ago, until the last day before its premiere telecast, enticing teasers in its 24 frames per second format scattered on the internet as if a Filipino titanic telenovela is on the rise.

Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann portray the Pinoy version of Rosalinda and Fernando Jose.

Watch the trailer online and be the judge.

Rosalinda is originally a Mexican telenovela produced by Salvador Mejia. Thalia Sodi as Rosalinda Perez y Romero and Fernando Carillo as Fernando Jose Altamirano del Castillo.

It took several script revisions before Mejia finally convinced the Queen of Telenovelas for a comeback on the small screen.

It is, so far, considered the last telenovela of Thalia.

Before the invasion of Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese TV dramas, Latin telenovelas polluted the afternoon schedules of ABS CBN 2, GMA 7, ABC 5 (now TV5) and of course, RPN 9 (now CS).

It all started in the early 90’s. ‘La Traidora’ was the very first Latin American telenovela in the Philippines. It was aired on RPN 9. At that time, RPN 9 used to be “Your Friendly Network.”

When Marimar came, everything changed.

Telenovelas are sizzling love stories. It’s all about a very beautiful and sexy couple wanting to kiss and a scriptwriter keeping them apart. Every episode must have this burning passion of love, kiss, love and kiss. Every dialogue sprays sensuality in the air. The male lead should be the most desirable man in the story. Same goes with the female lead.

It’s an escape.

It’s exaggerated. It’s over the top. Big hair, big jewelries, big make-up, and big things… because that’s what people want to see.

Indeed, we have never come up with a real telenovela… yet.

This is the reason why our so-called local telenovelas can never penetrate Middle-Eastern countries, European countries and America.

I’m talking about the foreign audience. Not the Filipino audience abroad.

Lately, the TV casting standard seems to have caused dismay. Quite in fact, the quality of the show suffers in brutality the longer it stays on air. Options are not available unless cable TV subscription is affordable.

As evolution leaps forward, other Asian countries have begun to compete globally in terms of high quality TV programming.

South Korea has been brandishing its own pop music scene. Better yet, ABS CBN 2 and GMA 7 buying the rights of Korean TV dramas for local adaptations only proves how far we have been left behind.

The original telenovela Rosalinda remains to be the highest rated soap opera in Philippine TV history. Holding the record of almost 70 percent audience share as given by AGB Nielsen Mega Manila TV Ratings nine years ago.

Without a doubt, most of our local TV dramas suck.

So sad but so true.

Disipulo headspins ‘Oras Na’

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 09, 2009

Lazy Sunday afternoons listening to Ka Pedro on 99.5 RT way back in the early 90’s stirred up my interest in alternative rock music. It was the decade dominated by Siakol, Parokya Ni Edgar, Yano, Rivermaya and of course, the Eraserheads.

Actually, I wasn’t a big fan. Blame my brother Jefferson. I had no choice because whenever I tried to change radio stations, he would go ballistic. Then, as it went on, I realized I was starting to like it.

Now, entering the underground music scene, I have come to find so many interesting people like Chris Lucas. He is the manager of Disipulo — a very promising rock band.

I met them at a recording studio in Quezon City. My actors were with me for the ADR of my film and I had a proposition to the owner of the studio. I wanted to broadcast any band on my YouTube channel. A good way to parade talents on cyberspace.

Let’s volt in for “Disipulo.”

Cheenee de Jesus on vocals. Bass is Jonathan Abisan. Julius Quiroz, the drummer and Jobert Lebios takes the guitars.

Their live performance at Bri-Iw Bar in Timog was flabbergasting. Cheenee squealed and roared some notes like Lea Salonga must come to understand that this was her contrast. It reminded me of my P.E. teacher in junior high school who once told me that rock is not music but rather noise.

Although she was my favorite teacher and she was so hot, I had to disagree. I strongly believe that every vibrational human being has a unique way of creating different forms of waves that our physical and spiritual being perceive as music. It’s good to know that there are several genres to choose from. There might be other types of music we haven’t discovered yet.

Disipulo is one of a kind. It would’ve been an ego-booster for these young musicians to see Francis Magalona in amazement if he were still in human form. They set the stage on fire and rock you like they’re your babysitters. I mean, they rock.

The headspin is, by the way, the must see signature of Disipulo. Underground musicians call the lead guitarist Jobert Lebios as the electric fan of Disipulo.

Watch them perform live and find out why.

Their album has been released. The carrier single “Oras Na” will surely give you an exciting deep penetration and unleash the rockstar your soul has always caged.

Check out Disipulo in their latest gigs courtesy of Molotov Cocktail Entertainment and Gift of Music.

God bless the underground music industry.

Lovi Poe is everything you wanted

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 07, 2009

It was year 2005 when Lovi Poe entered the world of showbiz. She was sixteen years old at that time. She looked so pretty and reporters couldn’t stop asking her questions regarding the death of Fernando Poe, Jr., the King of Philippine movies.

Need I say how they’re related to each other?

The Best Of My Heart launched Lovi’s singing career and it sold thousands of copies. The music in her first CD was promising.

Her second album Lovi Bloom lacked something like her upbeat song “Everything You Wanted.” It could’ve been much better. But thankfully, we get to listen to “Sana, Dito Sa Puso Ko”, “Nais Ko” and her duet with Aljur Abrenica, “Save The Sunlight.”

“Everything You Wanted,” I believe, was not given the right music video. Its boring choreography and lazy transition of frames were like the styles used in one of  those Tootsie Guevarra MVs during the late 90’s.

However, Lovi’s live performance of “Everything You Wanted” on Eat Bulaga was totally awesome.

This dance track was fabulous and Lovi’s angelic voice made a point that a Filipino singer can have a break into the music scene, particularly here in the Philippines, without belting monotonous high notes.

I’m still trying to figure out why many people say Lovi Poe can’t sing. Well, I have a lifetime to figure it out but all I know for sure is that she can sing and she never gets on my last nerve. Quite in fact, her voice soothes my nerves.

Sadly, my expectations got me upset since all her songs in Bloom are slow. I mean, it’s okay to have slow songs but it would’ve been much more exciting if there were some dance tracks in it.

All in all, Lovi Bloom is definitely worth it.

Hopefully, fans will soon see her perform like Nicole of Pussycat Dolls or move her hips like Shakira. Just look at Lovi’s long legs in high heels, pretty face while flipping her Goldilocks hairdo.

What more can you ask for?

Well, better have it in her third album. It is a MUST.

Without a doubt, the full capacity of this girl to reach superstardom has been contained by some people in showbiz including the foolish network war of ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7.

I believe she has this action girl thing in her. It runs in the blood. Talk about the classic fight scenes FPJ used to do in films.

Perhaps, a newly created superheroine character with a smart storyline would unleash the Lovi Poe we wanted. There’s no need to fly or to wear a bikini-like costume. Fast pacing, agitating transition of frames and kick major ass fight sequences will absolutely bring it on.

Eerie as it may seem, her network doesn’t give her good projects nowadays, even though she’s got what it takes to become primetime queen on Philippine television.

Maybe another TV network or another movie production can bring out the best in Lovi Poe. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. GMA 7 and Regal Films have been wasting her time and it’s funny. Funny but not in a “hahaha” way.

“Walang Hanggang Paalam”, her first independent film, was rated X by the MTRCB. Its red carpet premiere got cancelled but weeks later, it was considered R-18 after all.

Check out the trailer on YouTube.

This digital full length feature film is produced by Jacky Woo. Edited, written and directed by Ellen Ramos and Paulo Villaluna.

She co-starred Marian Rivera in “Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang.” The show ended early this year.

For now, the 20-year-old actress/singer is very busy with her out of town shows, mall tours and concerts with Ogie Alcasid, Jan Nieto and Chris Cayzer.

Victor Aliwalas and Alyne Torres: Antonov Vodka Stars 2009

by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 04, 2009

Be Who You Want To Be.

This is all about showcasing your different sides to the whole world. Your nerdy side, artistic side, sexy side, party side, wild side and more.

The Antonov Vodka Stars recently had its Red Carpet Press Launch at the Heirarchy Bar, The Fort Strip, Taguig.

It was a very fantastic event hosted by the very beautiful Krista Ranillo.

Victor Aliwalas, GMA Artist Centre, was press favorite that evening. In spite of being so late, he was able to catch up with the Red Carpet runway presentation. Of course, he wouldn’t be a ramp model for nothing.

The 25-year-old actor/model had his debut in the Philippine remake of Marimar in 2007. Even if it was hard for him to speak Filipino, he pulled it off just the way it should be. He was also part of Kim Sam Soon starred by Regine Velasquez. Then, his very first film Tutok has justified his image as the next matinee idol leveling the likes of Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz.

Meanwhile, indie film actress Alyne Torres stormed the event as she blew the audience with her amazing catwalk. She may not be a pro but she sure is not scared of showing her real self. Her Antonov Vodka TVC definitely blew the audience just like that.

Alyne starred in the horror flick Kasambahay and is soon to start filming another suspense thriller movie. In addition to that, this year, a CyberVision series will parade her versatility as an actress.

Other Antonov Vodka Stars are Mico Marasigan, Claire Vanessa Lim, Derrick Dy, Tamster de Castro, Ken Viterbo, Sassan Shokouhi, LC So, Patricia Esguerra, Yve Grady, Jann Angara, Nacho Alzaga, Dan Harvey and Reena Rae.

If you want to vote for Victor Aliwalas and Alyne Torres, log on to their multiply website.

Darna flies high once again

 by Julius Roden

Posted on INQUIRER.net Cybervision

July 03, 2009

The Darna of this generation is back as she flies high once again.

Yes, that’s right. Angel Locsin soars, not in her tight red superheroine costume but rather as Jillian Mendoza in the Philippine remake of the TV series “Only You.”

Since the original format is Korean, the story is very light and very realistic. It’s so nice to see this young actress improve her craft, bite the dust and stand up.

It’s really good how she regained her throne as the primetime queen of Philippine television. Should I tell you more about ratings? Guess not. You people are adroit enough to figure it out yourselves. Am I right, or am I right?

“Only You” is about a young girl who dreamed of becoming a great chef. But she fell in love with a man who got her pregnant and things went out of hand. The conflict in the story initiated when she hid the truth from her parents and continued living life as if nothing happened at all.

It’s very different from those sensual telenovelas we import from South America broadcast on Telemundo and Televisa.

Aside from that, there are a lot of scenes displaying nutritious Korean food in the kitchen,
dining table and so much more. Actually, the show makes you want to eat Korean cuisines or if you haven’t tried it yet, it will make you want to give it a try.

In 2009, Angel Locsin has been showcasing her other side as an actress. The role she plays is very challenging because it’s not like one of those exaggerated TV series we have on primetime. In addition to that, PMPC Star Awards gave her the Best Actress Award for her Maalaala Mo Kaya performance. Then, her 2008 LOBO also won an international award in Canada.

Back in 2005, she mesmerized many Filipino TV goers when she accepted the magical white stone and claimed the name “Darna”.

Indeed, this Mars Ravelo creation made Angel Locsin the hottest star of 2005 in local showbiz. That same year, she placed number one in FHM.

As a matter of fact, she still is the sexiest Darna we know in this generation of ours. Although the fight scenes in the series totally sucked major and some episodes went cheesier than cheese, cornier than popcorn without salt, Angel Locsin’s jaw-dropping outfit made us forget how crappy the show was.

Men got thrilled when the scene was about Narda grabbing the white stone for the Darna explosive transformation sequence. Others got worried that Angel might get into some kind of nipple slip situation because it looked as if her upper suit was going to fall anytime. Every episode took our breath away.

Even though we won’t be able to see her play Darna again due to some childish nonsense regarding network war, YES, the Kapamilya versus Kapuso balderdash, Angel Locsin flies high as a much better actress this time around.

Well, it looks like her career is offering a very good vibration and the universe is reflecting back the way she wanted it.

“Only You” has few episodes left before it says goodbye to viewers. However, the show has marked a new style of telling a story without giving viewers too much to think about. Something that will get rid of your stress.

So what’s next, Angel Locsin? Keep up the good work then.

Katrina Halili sex tape… I love it!

Avid readers of FHM know Katrina Halili became the sexiest woman in it for two consecutive years.  Make that in 2006 and 2007.

Katrina Halili shot to fame when she played the character Angelica Santibanez in the Philippine Remake of Marimar. Then, she starred in other television series and films.

But who cares? What matters to us is her amazing sex video. Quite in fact, my brother’s friend, who happens to be very egoistic and never gives good comments to other men, said something like this: “Pare, in fairness, magaling ‘yong Hayden Kho na ‘yon…”

Well, my girlfriend and I checked it out together and we thought it was a sizzling homemade video. A private video of a very beautiful couple. However, since it’s all over the internet, everybody wanted to see it.

As for me, I’m really glad because I know now how Katrina moans in bed especially when someone is boinking her over and over again.

Let’s all be honest here. Some men envy Hayden Kho for he was such a lucky bastard while some women desire him or if they think they’re not, probably they’re curious to some extent. Then again, you wouldn’t be reading this blog if you weren’t in the first place.

There are a lot of news on the internet about Katrina telling the public that she felt betrayed and that she was the victim in this scenario. Actually, everything is well. People will just forget about it that’s why she shouldn’t worry too much. A great actress like her would still get acting jobs.

She’s talented and hard-working. If ever I meet her face to face, I’m going to ask her to sign my butt with her autograph. Moreover, I’ll tell her how beautiful and sexy she is .

I like Katrina’s acting style on TV and in movies.  As a matter of fact, I watched her movie “Dalaw”– a horror film directed by Joven Tan.

It was a scary popcorn flick that it didn’t matter how she got banged by Doctor/Director Hayden Kho. Really. It didn’t matter at all. We were all there to enjoy her movie. Of course, I know that the entire audience think about her GREAT SEX VIDEO every time her face is on the big screen. But it didn’t matter at all.

The thing is… people nowadays are getting smarter and smarter. Too busy for work. In other words, people don’t care if Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho had sex many times. I mean, not in a negative way. But I can say that many people cared how Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho did it in bed. This is true because we all watched it, did we not?

It’s so sick to see monsters in the media destroy this young woman’s career in showbiz.

She didn’t ask for people to view her in bed, naked, sexy and beautiful as Hayden tasted her gorgeous body in full glory.

Funny how hypocrisy poisons our minds and dictates how we should live life.

Judgmental human beings just wouldn’t let it go. I guess they have to learn how to deal with their personal issues. Better yet, try to spice up their own lame lives if it’s not too late.

As for me, I really had a great time watching Katrina Halili in her sex video.

You got a problem with that?
